Army School No.1 set its ball rolling on 12th July 1993 in the premises of the Grenadiers Regimental Centre, Jabalpur. Initially three single men living barracks were provided by the Grenadiers centre to open classes from class I to VI. However,within a short period of time two additional barracks were also provided for the further extension in the number of classes. As a result, Army School No.1 Jabalpur was able to provide education up to class IX in the academic session 1993-1994.

News & Events

The Annual School function “CHRYSALIS” was held on 20th Dec 2011. It was a stupendous success.
The 63rd Republic day was celebrated with patriotic fervor & great enthusiasm. The Chairman, Brig KK Thacker (Commandant, GRC) was the Chief Guest.
Educational excursion by the students of classes X & XI to the Red Ribbon Express at the Madan Mahal station on 2nd of feb 2012 was organized. The trip was an awareness programme to educate the students on AIDS.
A Principals’ Meet was organized on 24th-25th Jan 2012 in the Chanakya Hall (GRC) to imbibe new teaching & learning technologies like TAL & CAL. The GOC MB Area Lt Gen RS Pradhan graced the occasion.
A counseling session was heldby Mr. MK Jha, Principal KVK Jayant Colliery, Singrauli for the students of class XII as to “How to Crackthe Board Examination”.
The School children participated in the Bal Utsav, interschool patriotic Group song competition. The competition was organized by the Commissioner Nagar Nigam on 23rd & 24th Jan 2012, respectively. The students secured the second position.
Inter Army School Quiz and Debate Competition, Central Command Cluster II inaugurated by Brig KK Thacker on 24th Aug’11. The event was successfully hosted by APS No. 1.
Prizes given away by the Maj Gen P Vivekanandan, Chief of Staff HQ MB Area, Jabalpur on 25^th Aug’11.
Special days like Hiroshima day, Quit India Day and World Health Day celebrated with zeal and fervor.
In-service Training Programs attended by most of the teachers at the Faculty Development Research Centre New Delhi.
Annual Sports Day celebrated in a befitting manner in December 2010.
Workshops conducted in summers to update the teachers on latest CCE policies.
Workshop on dealing with behavioral problems conducted for teachers.
Round the year various healthy competitions like slogan writing, quiz, debate, calligraphy, spellathon etc. were held.
Summer Camp held in summer 2011 to train students in various activities.
